family{long post}

So the past week has been a crazy one.
My sweet Grandma all of a sudden wasn't doing too well.. long story short she had to have surgery and  post-operatively she wasn't doing good.
Saturday she ended up getting life-flighted to another hospital{that also had better docs}.
keep in mind, I haven't seen my Grandma Townsend in years since she lives in Logan, Utah, and
As soon as Kris and i heard how serious this was getting at about 7pm on Saturday we packed up our things, called Kris's mom to see if she could check in on Diesel boy and by 9pm we were out the door.
Talk about a rush.
My parents left shortly after we did.
So we drove... and drove... and drove... and drove... 12 hours!
This is what kept kris and i awake. monster. jordan almonds.magazines.hot chocolate.and of course talking. we have been together about 6 years and we still can chat like we were dating and know nothing about each other. ha
finally we were at UTAH!
We had a little time to kill since we got to Utah at 6 in the morning and my grandma was asleep!
so we drove real quick threw this cute little town called Fillmore.

deer! in the middle of the town! haha
My ahhhmazing husband was pooped since he drove the whole way that after 5 minutes of getting to the hotel he was out.
after being at the hospital for hours and hours my grandma was finally somewhat stable so she had to finally go to sleep so we all decided to grab some dinner. this was somewhat bitter sweet. My dad's brothers and sisters hasn't all gotten together in years. So this was the first time they were all together.. the sad thing is my grandma has been wanting this to happen for years and something like this was what brought them all together. so sad.. but now lesson learned.
below is all of my dads sisters and brothers and of course kris an i! ha
this is what the dinner table looked like. 25 family members.

For a few hours each day the docs wanted my grandma to sleep and rest so they kicked us out one day for 3 hours. so what to do rather than moap around in the waiting room? walk around the Salt Lake City Utah new MALL.
wish our mall had rivers in them

yes i HAD to go to Tiffany's.
my finger will never be this expensive ever again.

We also visited the Salt Lake City Temple. so purdy.
There were lots of ups and downs within the few days we were there with my grandma. some days she was doing great and making progress and the other days she wasn't doing too well.
Kris and i wish we could have stayed with her all week but unfortunately we have to be grown ups and get back to work. the note we left on was a positive one, she was awake and saying sentences and even cracked a joke. so back in the car we went. since this trip was kinda a stressful/worried/tear jerker trip we wanted to lighten the mood on our way home. we knew we wouldn't be getting home early anyways so why not make a few stops on the way home. we never get to do this because we are always so dang rushed all the time. and if there is something this trip taught me is to take advantage of every day you have with your loved ones.
this is how it started. like come on now. really? we are trying to be positive here!
but things turned around shortly because we saw these pretty things from the road and i begged Kris to stop cause i LOVE clydesdales!

This one loved us and even posed in the pic for me! haha
i didn't mind the drive to and from utah because of the scenery! AZ is all desert. i hate it.

We then saw this on the map and it was only a few miles off the main highway so we said what the heck when else will we be able to say we been to the Coral Pink Sand Dunes!!
These were awesome!
We are used to the dunes in California.. the drive to them we were still in pine trees! haha so weird!

 so soft.

i had to bring a bag of it home with me.

we then decided that there was this cave called the Moqui Cave just off the highway so we decided to take a look!

oh the things you see when you take a road trip.
beautful.

It was a long draining trip but our hopes and prayers is that my grandma pulls threw.

Diesel boy missed us.

he just wanted to snuggle us when we got home.
kris was sleeping and he came up and laid his head on his back and just kept it there for a while. love this boy.
