catching up...

Well i have been slacking in the blogging department! defiantly has been a while. So
lets play catch up!
These are all of things that have been going on this past month!!

September 18th was my studs birthday!!
the big 2-3!
We went to his favorite place to eat for lunch!

He finally got these walkie talkies that he has been wanting for forEVER! Such a happy man.

We took a trip up to Logan Utah for my grandpas funeral. It was bitter sweet because of course i miss him but he is in a better place and is pain free!
On our 14 hour drive we got to see fall!!! something we dont see here in ugly AZ.

The boys (hubby and brother chad) got a  little delirious from the long trip and....well.... this is what happens...

So there has always been a neat story with kris and i. we were dating for about 1 year and then we found out that our grandpas were best friends when they were younger and kriss grandpa lived with mine for years. Well we started going through all these pictures at my grandma house and we came across a album he had sent them when he went off to war. so these are pics of Kris's Grandpa!!!

We sat for hours going through suitcases full of old pictures and my grandma just sat with us telling us all these awesome storys. love her to death.

Diesel turned 1 as of October 14th!!! such a cutie pie.

 Finally am finishing decorating some of the rooms in our house!
its only been almost a full year of us living here and still am decorating! haha
but i wanted to tackle this room first, which is kris hunting room! i knew he was going to claim one of the rooms in our house so i figured why not go with it and make it nice rather than tacky!

i got a 16x20 picture blown up of his elk he killed, looks so good!

The weather is STILL aweful. i really question why i live in AZ. i hate it here. Its always hot, we dont get the 4 seasons (basically 1=hot), so many people, the list goes on. i miss our farm.

welp... thats all the big things that have been going on this past month or so...

its because we love to hunt

Hunting season is one that i love and hate.

hate because kris is gone so much but love because i love to hunt.

This past weekend i went up to the unit my dad got drawn to help with his hunt.  His unit is by this tiny little town which is called Seligman. Seligman is seriously a one horse kind of town. It is actually what inspired the Cars movie, Route 66!!

My dads favorite bike he ever owned was this one, a Honda 90!

We all have a special bond with this mama cow. 3 weeks ago when my dad an Kris went up to scout, kris said this mama cow was trying to cross this fence and it was always right at the same spot. Well she then started to mother another calf that wasn't hers, 3 weeks later she was still there with both calfs!!!

hahaha love her.

So me and my mom was hanging out in out in our to hauler... we take a look outside and instead of just Kris and my dad outside practicing target sooting, there was 7 men out there!! hahaha love how hunters are usually so nice.

first time sewing project=experience.

So starting at about september it begins to be bitter sweet.. i get super excited because the weather begins to cool off, but the stinky part is that means hunting season starts.
i love hunting don't get me wrong but it also

 means---->I'm a hunting widow.

So.. i decided rather than sitting around not doing anything I finally made the leap and decided to finally make my pillow cases for our new couch we bought a couple months ago!

Now if you read my previous post,  you would have seen what happened with my first pillow i made.

Diesel{aka- the destroyer} mutilated my pillow.

Now i look at it as somewhat a good thing because i then saw even cuter fabric. so i started from square one. new everything.

Diesel kept me company the entire 3 days...

So after 3 days...

energy drinks{staying up till 2 in the morning}

 jamming out to you tube...

i finally finished the pillows!!!!!!

I LOVE them!
i sewed 6 pillows!!

Sound all good and dandy and it was easy peasy!

THE ZIPPER
Who would have thought this would be such a task?
i sure didn't!

 This incident happened on 2 pillows- i got the zipper all aligned and pinned down on the seam... started sewing... got all the way down to the end and realized i put the zipper wrong side down.

i accidentally missed sewing the zipper so i have to re-do the entire seam.

i concentrated so much on sewing as close to the seam as possible i forget about the other "watch-out's"
i sewed my actual pillow INTO my zipper seam.

Needle mishap.

not too sure how this happened but i somehow broke the tip of the needle off!!! 

luckily my mom insisted that i take her sewing machine manuals and I'm so glad she did! 

Since that is how i figured out how to change the needle!!

Although after alllllll this i loveee my pillows and so does Kris.
Cross your fingers Diesel doesn't chew these ones up.
